TO REFER A YOUTH TO OUR SERVICE

Who is it for?

This service is for youth aged 15 to 19 years including those who are either:

  • at risk of dropping out and attending a high school or adult education center;
  • recent dropouts who were attending a high school or adult education center less than six months ago.

Specific objectives

  • Promote the academic pursuit or re-enrolment of youth at risk of dropping out of school and recent dropouts through individual and group mentoring;
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations;

This service aims to encourage young people to stay in school or to re-enroll. The needs of the young people targeted by this service are multiple and can be found at different levels, for example:

  • the need to be motivated, to build a life vision, to get to know themselves better, to feel valued, to develop their self-esteem, their confidence and their social skills;
  • the need for role models, positive social connections to compensate for lack of family or social support, encouragement, support and guidance (especially educational) from trusted adults
