WHAT:
« Outside the ring” is a program that reaches out to marginalized youth by offering them an alternative support service. The approach utilizes sports in order to help them integrate the job market or return to training. The involvement of youth in the establishment of a space adapted to their needs remains one of the keys in this project to foster not only their sense of belonging, but also to develop their self-confidence.
FOR WHO :
Youth aged 16-35 who are neither in school nor employed. These young people may have difficulty with school and/or social settings.
The targeted youth may be experiencing various personal difficulties.
HOW :
Workshops on various themes related to personal development, employability, school, economic education. One-on-one meetings with the facilitators. Craft activities (building the premises, bike repair), sports activities (boxing, cross fit, martial arts), community involvement, school breaks, cultural activities.
WHERE :
The program is located in the basement of Crossfit Lachute. Activities are also held at the Carrefour Jeunesse-Emploi d’Argenteuil.
WHEN :
The program started on July 1, with continuous admissions.
